(Berlim, 18.10.2005) SONANGOL LANÇA CONCURSOS PÚBLICOS PARA NOVAS CONCESSÕES PETROLÍFERASA Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola(Sonangol)vai lançar em Dezembro deste ano Concursos Públicos para a atribuição da qualidade de sua associada nas concessões petrolíferas dos blocos 1,5 e 6(em águas rasas),bem como nos 15,17,18 e 26(em águas profundas). Segundo uma nota a que a Angop teve hoje acesso,os concursos realizam-se a 30 de Dezembro e,as empresas nacionais ou internacionais interessadas,mas que não pretendam assumir as funções de operadoras dos blocos,devem até 30 de Novembro indicar os blocos em que se pretendem pré-qualificar. Para a pré-qualificação estas empresas devem apresentar o nome da firma ou denominação social,local de constituição,de registo e endereço da sua sede,as actividades mais importantes exercidas e estrutura patrimonial(valores do capital próprio,activo realizável e das imobilizações,bem como do passível exigível). A garantia financeira de instituição bancária idónea,relatórios anuais e balanço de contas dos últimos três anos,detalhes da sua experiência em pesquisa e produção de petróleo,número de trabalhadores e experiência do pessoal de direcção são outros requisitos impostos pela Sonangol. As empresas que pretendam ser operadoras dos blocos,para além destes elementos,devem fazer prova de competência e experiência na gestão e execução petrolífera,de competência técnica e operacional e possuir uma estrutura organizacional eficiente. (Berlim, 18.10.2005) ANGOLA ELECTED UN ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL MEMBERAngola was elected Monday,for the first time,as a member of the United Nation`s Economic and Social Council "ECOSOC",in New York,US, with a mandate that will start on 1st January 2006. Similarly to what happened in 2002, when the country was elected as a non permanent member of the Security Council,in yesterday`s election, Angola was the most voted country,with 186 votes,in a process that counted on the participation of 191 UN member states. The elected countries,namely,ANGOLA,Austria,Benin,Cuba,Czech Republic,France,Germany,Guinea Bissau,Guyana,Haiti,Japan,Madagascar, Mauritania,Paraguay,Saudi Arabia,Spain,Sri Lanka and Turkey will serve for a three-year mandate. The eighteen members were elected according to the following geographic division:five from Africa,three from Asia,one from Eastern Europe,Four from Latin America and the Caribbean and five from western Europe and other states. Created under the United Nations Charter,ECOSOC serves has the principal forum to discuss international economic matters and formulates policies of recommendation for the member states and the United Nations system. This organisation is equally responsible for the promotion and improvement of the living standards of the peoples,employment security and progress in the socio-economic domain,identifying solutions to problems in these areas and promote international health,as well as facilitate international co-operation in regard to cultural and educational aspects,encouraging universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. The Economic and Social Council has 54 members.Albania,Armenia, Australia,Bangladesh,Belgium,Belize,Brazil,Canada,Chad,China, Colombia,Costa Rica,Denmark,Democratic Republic of Congo,Guinea Conakry,Ireland,India,Indonesia,Italy,Lithuania,Mauritius,Mexico, Namibia,Nigeria,Pakistan,Panama,Poland,Russia,South Africa,Thailand, Tunisia,United Arab Emirates,United Kingdom,Tanzania and the United States of America,are the other countries that will continue with their respective mandates. |

(Berlim, 18.10.2005) POPE BENEDICT XVI FOLLOWS CRISIS IN CATHOLIC CHURCH IN CABINDAThe crisis prevailing in the Catholic Church in Angola`s northern Cabinda province,is deserving the attention from the Pope Benedict XVI, the Holy See representative in Angola,Dom Angelo Beccio,said on Tuesday in Luanda,after an audience with the Angolan Foreign Minister,João Miranda. At the meeting,Ângelo Beccio,presented some lamentations from the priests of Cabinda and said that he had received from the Angolan Cabinet Minister,satisfactory responses about the matter. The Pope`s representative in the Southern African country,said that the Vatican hopes that the misunderstandings ongoing in the Diocese of Cabinda have a satisfactory solution and the local priests play a decisive role for the pacification of the Catholic Church faithful in Cabinda. (Berlim, 18.10.2005) TPA DIRECTOR-GENERAL,CARLOS CUNHA ANNOUNCED THAT THE ANGOLA PUBLIC TELEVISION TO COVER OVER 60 NEW LOCALITIES,UNTIL NEXT YEARAngola Public Television To Cover Over 60 New Localities The director-general of the State-run Public Television of Angola (TPA)Carlos Cunha,announced on Tuesday in Luanda that one of the main objectives of his company,until next year,is the extension of television signal to over 60 new localities of the country. Speaking to National Radio of Angola(RNA),on the occasion of TPA`s 30th anniversary commemorations,Mr Cunha referred that in the project are prioritised the regions according to their political,economic and social importance. "At the moment,we have outlined in the framework of the government programme a set of areas to cover.We will until the end of 2006 to cover 60 localities throughout the country,in accordance with those regions`political and socio-economic importance.We think it is an important step and we hope the resources are granted so that we carry on with this process ",he stressed. (Berlim, 18.10.2005) DIRECTOR GERAL DA TPA,CARLOS CUNHA,ANUNCIA EXTENSÃO DO SINAL À SESSENTA NOVAS LOCALIDADES ATÉ AO PRÓXIMO ANOO director-geral da Televisão Pública de Angola(TPA),Carlos Cunha, anunciou,hoje,que uma das principais apostas da empresa,até finais de 2006,é a extensão do sinal televisivo a mais 60 novas localidades do país. Em declarações hoje à Radio Nacional de Angola(RNA),por ocasião das comemorações do 30º aniversário deste órgão de comunicação social, Carlos Cunha referiu,que no projecto serão priorizadas as regiões de acordo com a sua importância sócio-económica e política. "Nós,neste momento,temos visado no quadro do programa do Governo um conjunto de pontos a cobrir.Vamos até finais de 2006,cobrir mais de 60 pontos espalhados pelo país,de acordo com a importância sócio-económica e política dessas regiões.Achamos que é um passo importante e,vamos esperar que os recursos sejam concedidos,para que nós continuemos com este processo",frisou. Outra aposta da empresa,continuou,passa pelo incremento de programas de produção nacional,como seriados e telenovelas,que não tem tido continuidade por falta de condições de vária ordem. Logo que estejam criadas as condições,prometeu,a TPA estará em altura de produzir uma telenovela angolana de longa duração. "O nosso problema de continuidade deste trabalho,prende-se precisamente com a falta de estúdios,de condições para produzirmos de uma forma mais eficaz,mais efectiva e mais rápida.Nós,com o nosso centro de produção,vamos poder produzir de forma contínua e,dentro de dois ou três anos estaremos a substituir a telenovela principal brasileira,por uma de produção nacional",enfatizou. De acordo com Carlos Cunha,com a alteração nos próximos tempos da Lei de Imprensa,que quebra o monopólio do Estado sobre a Televisão,serão introduzidos um conjunto de serviços ligados às novas tecnologias, com vista a fazer face à concorrência que se avizinha. Por ocasião do aniversário do único órgão televisivo do país,têm sido enviadas várias mensagens de felicitações,das quais se destacam a do Ministro da Comunicação Social,Manuel António Rabelais. Na missiva,o governante exorta a direcção e trabalhadores da empresa a prosseguirem com abnegação,sentido de Estado e pluralismo,os esforços pela contínua melhoria e maior expansão do serviço público televisivo. (Berlim, 18.10.2005) SONANGOL PUTS NEW OIL CONCESSIONS TO TENDERSThe State-run National Society of Fuel(Sonangol)will next December put out to tenders oil concessions of blocks 1,5 in low waters),as well as in blocks 15,17,18 and 26(in deep waters). According to a press-release,which ANGOP had got access today,the tenders will take place next December 30 and national and international firms interested in the tenders must until November 30 indicate the blocks that they want to pre-qualify for. In order to pre-qualify,these companies must present the name of the firm or its social denomination,the area of constitution, registration and its head office address,the most important activities exerted and patrimonial structure (values of own capital and assets).
